Josep Carreras Foundation, an organization that fights against leukemia, has relied on vertisol’s acoustic panels.
The entity has been working for more than 30 years to find a cure for leukemia and that, someday, it will be a totally curable disease. In addition, the Foundation promotes all kinds of projects for the benefit of patients and science.
In 2010 created the Josep Carreras Leukemia Research Institute (IJC), one of the few centers in the world devoted entirely to leukemia and other hematological malignancies.
The main objective for its office in Barcelona is the acoustic improvement. vertisolacoustics helps to have more efficient workspaces. Thanks to the reduction of noise, acoustic panels manage to reduce stress. And, consequently, increase the workers’ productivity thanks to this acoustic comfort necessary in these spaces.
The properties and technical capabilities presented by acoustic panels allow all types of spaces to be conditioned. Like the Josep Carreras Foundation offices, allowing to create more livable, healthy and efficient environments.
In these offices, more than seventy acoustic panels have been installed in different models and applications. On the one hand, we installed the vertisolacoustics Bloc, designed by vertisolstudio. In different formats such as suspended from the ceiling or on the wall. Also with multiples sizes adapted to the need of each space.
On the other hand, the vertisolacoustics Plec, designed by Odosdesign, have also been installed. In this case, the Plec Desk format. The ideal desktop acoustic office panel. Plec Desk allows the flexible compartmentalization of spaces and finds acoustic comfort, vital for workers’ health.
Why rely on vertisolacoustics?
vertisolacoustics contribute to sustainable architecture. Thanks to the characteristics of materials that composes it, such as its fabric. These are antibacterial fabrics.
Another important feature is that acoustic panels do not give off substances listed as Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC). These can also become harmful to people’s health. In addition, they are very easy to install panels on walls, suspended from the ceiling, on the floor, or above the table. They are also easy to clean and exhibit high resistance to abrasion and friction, making them a durable acoustic panels.
Finally, acoustic panels are phthalate-free fabrics. Phtalates are one of the most widely used plasticizers worldwide, used to increase the flexibility of the material. That can become harmful to health if there is prolonged exposure. By contrast, acoustic panels are made of a high percentage of recycled material.
These characteristics mentioned above, contribute to obtaining LEED credits. The most widely used sustainable building classification system in the world.
