Acoustic Panels for a Healthy Architecture

By avril 14, 2020 2 Comments

Did you know what is healthy architecture? This is a term widely used in recent times,  normally related to others that we probably are more used to, such as sustainable architecture. But what is healthy architecture itself? Essentially it refers to those spaces designed to contribute to the health and well-being of their ocupants. For this, both the design and the choice of materials are important with a fundamental premise: the indoor quality.

How do vertisolacoustics acoustic panels contribute to healthy architecture? vertisolacoustics acoustic panels are modular and modulary designed elements that contribute to healthy architecture thanks to the characteristics of the materials used.

Contributes to Indoor Air Quality

The basis of vertisolacoustics acoustic panels is the essential fabric, which is entirely produced at vertisol in order to meet the highest standards of quality, resistance and sustainability.

Thanks to its composition, essential fabric does not contain components such as fiberglass, which can be harmful to health, in addition to preventing from unpleasant odors.

Another important characteristic for health is that this fabric does not give off substances listed as volatile organic compounds (VOCs), which can also be harmful to people’s health.

Another important feature of vertisolacoustics acoustic panels, unlike other acoustic panels on the market, is their easy cleaning and maintenance, as essential fabric can be cleaned with a damp cloth with soap and water without damaging the fabric, and thus avoid the concentration of dust and other impurities.

Phthalate Free Fabrics

Another important feature for healthy architecture is that the essential fabric that makes up vertisolacoustics acoustic panels is Phthalate-free.

Phthalates are one of the most widely used plasticizers worldwide, used to increase the flexibility of the material.

However, several studies have determined that prolonged exposure to materials containing this type of plasticizer, can be harmful to health. That is why at vertisol we have removed these components from our fabrics to create healthier environments for people.

Recycled Materials and Sustainable Building

More important details to contribute to a healthy architecture, is that vertisol acoustic panels are manufactured using components that contain a certain percentage of recycled material. For example, the absorbent material contains more than 30% recycled polyester, or its aluminum frame, which also contains  15-20% recycled material.

In addition to this, and for all the characteristics mentioned above, the use of these panels contributes to obtaining LEED points in sustainable building programs.

Creating healthier environments is a responsibility with which we have been committed for years in the execution of all our products, and increasingly, a need and demand of new markets.
