Days 30th and 31st October it was held in Barcelona the last meeting of the working group on EU regulation,”Blinds&Shutters”.
Vertisol, leading manufacturer of technical fabrics for sunscreen protection and CEN representative, is one of the companies responsible for developing and defining the European Standards for EC on this issue.
The Blinds&Shutters working group belongs to the TC 33 Technical Committee: “Doors, windows, shutters, building hardware and curtain walling” of CEN, which brings together the National Standardization Bodies of 34 European countries. Each of these periodic meetings is organized in a different country, taking into account the nationality of the different CEN members.
Vertisol, which is part of these working groups as the Spanish representative in the group of “Celosías y Persianas”, has hosted this latest edition with the participation of our technical manager, Mrs. María José Moya, expert accredited by AENOR, the national standardization body in Spain.
During the meeting, it was carried out the revision of the rules on the evaluation and classification of performance in terms of thermal and light comfort, as well as the related tests and calculation methods.
The final result of these meetings the development of a draft that will eventually become the future standard. This encompasses the national point of view of each participating members, allowing the committee to make balanced decisions that reflect a broad consensus: a clear example of the “direct participation” in the standardization activities.
The next meetings planned for the group will be on 13th and 14th December in Paris, and 12th and 13th April next year, also in the same city, in order to better analyze the regulations discussed at this last meeting.
