At vertisol, we feel it is our duty to embrace sustainability and help fight climate change. In this sense and continuing with our commitment to the environment, we have installed more than 600 solar panels in our plants in Moraña (Pontevedra) and Granollers (Barcelona).

In our plants we generate an annual energy production of 392,040 kWh, a fact that has allowed us to reduce the annual electricity rate by 22% and avoid the emission into the atmosphere of 105 tons of CO2 per year. This data is equivalent to about 14,000 trees planted and almost 44 tons of oil.

The company specialized in photovoltaic solar energy installations, EiDF (Energy, Innovation, and Photovoltaic Development), has been responsible for the installation in both plants.

These actions only make the footprint of „vertisol commitment” bigger. As manufacturers of technical vinyl fabrics, at vertisol we are aware that we must be more efficient and respectful with the environment and we are committed to offering advanced textile solutions made from recycled materials and renewable resources.

Recycled and recyclable fabrics

The starting point is the recycling of plastics. Through research and innovation, we work to minimize our carbon footprint by using yarns made from recycled PET bottles. Up to 6 thrown away bottles are enough to produce a m2 of one of our fabrics with the same characteristics and performance as the fabric produced from raw materials.

Cradle to CradleTM fabrics and LEED credits

We also manufacture Cradle to Cradle™ fabrics. Cradle to Cradle certified is the global standard for products that are safe, circular and responsibly made. Cradle to Cradle Certified assesses the safety, circularity, and responsibility of materials and products across five categories of sustainability performance: material health, product circularity, clean air and climate protection, water and soil stewardship, and social fairness.

In vertisol we already have different types of fabric that have the Cradle to Cradle certified promoting product innovation based on the circular economy: Pledge FR (C2C Silver), SeaPlanet FR, Ecoplanet FR and Ecoplanet FR SRC (C2C Bronze).

Our fabrics help to obtain LEED credits for sustainable construction due to having an ecological production of sustainable products.

This is the vertisol commitment. We could not do things any other way.
