vertisol obtains its first Cradle to Cradle Silver level thanks to the Pledge FR fabric

By 13 lutego, 2019 One Comment

We live in a society that is becoming more aware of protecting our environment. That is why there is the need to manufacture products from sustainable resources and that are fully recyclable at end of their life. In Vertisol we have carried out this attractive and exciting proposal with the manufacture of our fabric Pledge FR, made from renewable resources and that has obtained the Cradle to Cradle Silver certification.

Pledge FR

The Pledge FR fabric is composed to a great extent of PLA (poly lactic acid). The glucose extracted from renewable sources such as sugar cane, beet or corn is transformed into a biodegradable polymer suitable for the production of yarns. Pledge FR also contains a significant amount of recycled PET.

The combination of both elements allows us to make a recycled and 100% recyclable fabric, and ensure that it does not contain restricted substances of very high concern (SVHC) listed by the REACH regulation of the European Union.

Pledge FR is manufactured with an innovative technology, and is a fabric free of components such as PVC, halogen, formaldehyde or lead, at the same time as meeting the highest fire protection standards.

Pledge FR, Cradle to Cradle Silver certificate

The Pledge FR fabric is the first of Vertisol’s recycled fabric collection to obtain the Silver level for the Cradle to Cradle Certification. In addition to Pledge FR, Vertisol has another four Cradle to Cradle™ Bronze certified fabrics: Planet FR, Ecoplanet FR, Ecoplanet FR SRC and SeaPlanet FR.

Cradle to Cradle Certified™ is a voluntary certification issued by Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute, a non-profit organisation that helps to carry out the product analysis using a continuous improvement system.

Cradle to Cradle™ guarantees that the product has been created from its design selecting healthy and safe materials, with the objective of minimising or eliminating waste (revaluating and introducing the waste into the supply chain)
